Under MLS Rules & Procedures Section 306.1 (Substantially Complete and Accurate Information), all listings must be entered into the MLS with information that is complete, accurate, and correct at the time of submission.
This includes the Original List Price, which must reflect the true, full listing price agreed upon in the listing contract.
An inaccurate original list price creates confusion for consumers, impacts market statistics, and interferes with the integrity of MLS data. Listing agents must ensure that the price entered in the Original List Price field matches the price in the fully executed listing agreement.
Steps to Correct This Violation
Review your listing agreement to confirm the correct original listing price.
Ensure that the Original List Price entered in the MLS matches the executed listing contract.
If a clerical error occurred, correct the field and retain documentation supporting the correction.
For any legitimate pricing changes after submission, use the Price Change function rather than altering the original list price.
