According to MLS Rules & Procedures Section 306.8: Incorrect Owner’s Name, no listing may be submitted to the MLS without revealing the true name of the property owner.
If the property owner specifically directs the Listing Agent to withhold their name, the Listing Agent may enter “Name Withheld” in the listing data form in lieu of the owner’s true name.
In such cases, MLS staff will request documentation confirming that the seller instructed the Listing Agent to use “Name Withheld.”
Steps to Correct This Violation:
- Review the Owner’s Name field in your listing.
- Verify that the owner’s name is entered accurately.
- If the seller has directed you to withhold their name, replace it with “Name Withheld” and retain written documentation of that instruction.
- Send homeowner letter to compliance@onekeymls.com.
- Save and resubmit the corrected listing to ensure compliance.
Additional Information:
According to Section 11, violation of this rule requires an automatic fine. This rule can be found in MLS Rules & Procedures Section 306.8: Incorrect Owner’s Name.
