MLS Rules & Procedures Section 306.1: Substantially Complete and Accurate requires all listings to be substantially complete and accurate at the time they are submitted to the MLS.
Each listing must include the Parcel ID (Tax ID / APN) if one is available. This information ensures that listings are properly identified and verifiable within the MLS system. Listings missing this information are considered incomplete and must be corrected. If a parcel identification number is unavailable, the information filed with the MLS must include a legal description of the property sufficient to describe its location. Please refer to the NAR Mandate 1.6, 1.7, 1.11, 1.16 for more information.
Steps to Correct This Violation:
- Review your listing for a missing or incorrect Tax/Parcel ID (APN).
- Locate the correct Parcel ID using the property’s official tax record.
- Enter the accurate Tax/Parcel ID into the appropriate field in your listing.
- Save and resubmit the updated listing to ensure compliance.
Additional Information:
According to Section 11, violation of this rule requires an automatic fine. This rule can be found in MLS Rules & Procedures Section 306.1: Substantially Complete and Accurate.
