OneKey MLS supports the entry of listings located outside of its standard coverage area, including international properties.
Eligibility Requirements
To enter a listing outside of the MLS coverage area, the Broker must be properly licensed and have jurisdiction to buy and/or sell real estate in the location of the listing.
Starting an Out of Area Listing in ADD/EDIT
When creating a listing outside of the OneKey MLS coverage area, begin in the ADD/EDIT section by selecting the Skip to a blank input form button at the bottom of the page.
Because out of area and international properties typically do not have associated tax records in the system, the auto-populated (tax-based) input option will generally not return results. Use the Blank Input Form and proceed with manual entry of all listing details.
This ensures a smoother workflow and avoids issues with missing or unavailable property data at the start of the listing process.
OneKey MLS does not yet include all cities, towns, post offices, or counties, both domestically and internationally. If the location field(s) you are entering do not appear in Matrix, you can simply select “Out of Area.”
Entering the Location Information for an Out of Area Listing
Follow the instructions below and screenshot as your guide when completing the Location Information section:
1. Street Number
- Enter the property’s street number as usual.
2. Street Name (Key Step)
- Enter the full property location details in this field.
- This should include all relevant location information (such as city, state/province, and postal code), since other fields may not support the true location.
This is a critical step to ensure the full address is captured.
3. Leave the Street Suffix field blank.
4. Enter the postal or zip code for the property.
5. Select “Out of Area” in the drop-down menu for County.
6. Select “Out of Area” in the drop-down menu for City/Township.
7. Select “Other” in the drop-down menu for Post Office/Town.
8. Select the appropriate state or province, if available in the system.
9. Select the appropriate country.
10. Complete any remaining fields (such as subdivision or neighborhood) as applicable and available.
Why This Workaround Is Important
Location-specific fields may not align with out-of-area or international properties:
- Using “Out of Area” allows the listing to be entered without errors
- Including full location details in the Street Name field preserves accuracy
- This ensures the listing will display correctly when syndicated
Syndication and Consumer Display
Listings entered using this method will still syndicate to major platforms, including Zillow & Realtor.com. See examples below:
