OneKey® MLS supports our subscriber’s success by providing checks that help keep the playing field level for all subscribers. Data fields such as the public remarks should be used for describing the listing and content should be relevant to the listing, avoid agent or office identifying information, fair housing violations, or any other material not suitable for consumption by the consumer. Review the tips below to remain in compliance with OneKey® MLS Rule 306.3 Proper Use of Data Fields.
Public Remarks are included on customer-facing displays and reports and are included in data feeds to consumer-facing sites. Therefore, this field should be used for description purposes only, similar to what information would be included in an ad.
- Do not include contact info such as names, phone numbers, website or email addresses, or links to virtual tours. This agent and/or office-identifying information may confuse a consumer who has an existing buyer agency relationship and could potentially deter a buyer’s agent from sharing the listing.
- Avoid including status information, showing instructions, offer procedures, property addresses, open houses, mortgage requirements, listing status, broker compensation or any other notation intended for agents (use Broker Remarks for that). (306.3)
Data Fields
All Data fields may only contain information which pertains to that particular field. Some common areas of question are:
- Floor Plans – pdf uploads may only contain room information or appliances on each floor. No branding may be included on floor plans.
- Section/Area- this optional field should only include the neighborhood where the property is located.
- Handicap Description- utilize this field to describe features which make property handicap accessible features and modifications only. (306.3)
Stratus Public Remarks Checker
Stratus Add/Edit provides a warning message if a potential violation is entered in the Public Remarks field. This is a call- to- action to go back and review your verbiage in this field. The listing may still be submitted with the existing remarks if you believe they are compliant.
